Our older elementary students and secondary students learned about vaping yesterday and that formaldehyde, acetone, lead, and over thirty chemicals are in found in the aerosol mist created by vape pens. They also learned vaping can harm the parts of the brain that regulate mood, attention, learning, and impulse control. If you have anyone you know that is interested in quitting vaping call the Texas Quitline at 1-877-YES-QUIT ! The organization was created to support teens and parents stop vaping and have many resources to support anyone interested in getting help.

If your elementary child would like to join in and help sing the National Anthem this Friday night, Nov. 1st at the ball game, please have them gather at the west end of the field by the score board at 6:45 for a 6:55 performance!

Good morning TCISD community! We have been working with our contractor to get the new phone system up and running. As of right now, we have a solid, working phone at the front reception desk that can be reached by calling 940-849-2421.

We want to congratulate our JH girls cross country team for their many successes this season. These girls worked extremely hard and, under the leadership of Coach Shield, were able to come away with seven first place finishes out of nine races. One of these first place finishes won them the district championship. We are extremely proud of each of these girls, and we thank them for representing TCISD in such a positive way!

Parents and Guardians,
Please drop your child off at the north drop-off area or the "Hug Zone" at the front door of the school each morning. We are no longer allowing parents to come into the building during breakfast to help keep the building secure and to follow our new safety guidelines. This procedure also helps build independence in our students. After parents say goodbye at the door, our staff will assist students to the cafeteria and help them get their breakfast and open milk, yogurt, etc. if needed. Older siblings may help smaller siblings if they like. Thank you for your cooperation and for helping keep our students safe.
Sincerely,
Rhonda Riley
TCISD Elementary

At 1:33pm today our fire alarm system began to alert a suspected fire in the new building. This was caused by dust being blown into the sensor while construction was taking place in one of our mechanical rooms. There is no fire emergency. The building was cleared and all rooms, hallways, and corridors were swept for signs of trouble.
Our staff and students responded appropriately, and we are now safely back in the building.
