📚 Important Testing Dates This Week! 📝
As we head into state testing, we want to share some key dates and helpful reminders for our students and families:
🗓️ Tuesday, April 15 – 3rd–5th Grade Reading STAAR
🗓️ Wednesday, April 16 – 6th–8th Grade Reading STAAR
🗓️ Thursday, April 17 – U.S. History EOC
While we want every student to do their best, we also know that one test does not define their worth or future. What matters most is their well-being—and that they show up and try their best.
Here are a few ways you can help your child feel confident and ready:
✅ Ensure a good night’s sleep before each test
🍎 Serve a healthy dinner and breakfast
⏰ Get them to school on time
💬 Offer words of encouragement
💡 Remind them: This test does not define success—we just want their best effort!
Together, we’ve got this! Let’s support our students every step of the way.

Bravo to the following elementary students for mastering their lessons and earning a ticket for our Exact Path drawing last Thursday! ( Brylan Everett-3-D shapes, Jax Hodges-Fantastic Fiction, Neveah Arthur- Multisyllabic Words. )

-- Mr. Nick Heupel Named Lone Finalist for Superintendent of TCISD --
The Throckmorton Collegiate ISD Board of Trustees is pleased to share that during a special called board meeting on April 8, 2025, the board voted unanimously in favor of naming Mr. Nick Heupel as the lone finalist for the position of Superintendent for our district.
With over 21 years of experience in education, Mr. Heupel brings a wealth of knowledge and dedication to the role. Mr. Heupel is a proud graduate of Tarleton State University, having earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the same institution. Throughout his career, he has worked predominantly in 1A and 2A districts, where he has demonstrated his commitment to student success and community involvement.
For the past 7 years, Mr. Heupel has served at May ISD, first as Secondary Principal for four years and most recently as Superintendent for the last three years. His leadership, vision, and focus on student achievement have made a lasting impact on the May ISD community, and we are confident that his skills and passion will continue to foster excellence within our district.
On a personal note, Mr. Heupel and his wife, Jill, will celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary this June. Jill currently works for Howard Payne University. Together, they have two children: Seth, a graduate of Texas Tech University, and their daughter Madelyn, along with her husband Josh, who live in Hinton, Oklahoma, where they serve as Youth Pastors.
We look forward to the future of our district under Mr. Heupel's leadership and are excited to welcome him as our next Superintendent. In accordance with state law, a 21-day waiting period must occur before Mr. Heupel can be officially hired as Superintendent. During this time, the community is encouraged to share any feedback regarding this decision.
